Clary Fray II - shadowhunter

Well this was another kind of experiment, to see how much I've improved. My last Clary picture was NOT great, her nose was spazzed (see folder). And so this was a really nice surprise, probably one of my favourite deviations yet.

I've drawn her in the ball gown she wears in the final chapters of City of Glass, at the victory party celebrating Valentine's defeat, when she gets together with Jace (yay!). And I shall tell you what makes me proudest of this picture (not the hair, of which drawing continues to be the bane of my existance, I think I spent ten minutes per curl) but the mouth. I have to constantly draw from reference these days, magazine adverts etc. but the mouth on this drawing is completely made up. And it actually fits. Yay! My imagination still works.........
